Defend Yourself from Slander

Slander spreads worldwide, whether religious, political, or business. Men seem to think they can win with Lies and not with Truth.

The Good Shepherd, Abbott Illustration NT, 1878

Slander is Satan's viral plague no man can contain.
Like a raging flood running deep,
sandbags won't hold its banks.
Slander rots a man's reputation and shames
even his innocence.

I have seen fools contrive slander and
actually believe their own false fabrications.
Men who speak slander are a nest of
slithering vipers with poisoned fangs.

"Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good
things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth
speaks” (Mt 12:34).

Take it from me. The way to defend from slander
is to remember the crown of thorns. The world
tortured the most perfect man on earth for his innocence.
You're not alone. The darkness hates the Light.

"You shall not circulate a false report” (Ex 23:1).
Wise men choose not to believe slander.
Block your ears and refuse to consider it.

Therefore all those who devour you, shall be devoured”
(Jer 30:16). God will vindicate the victims of this world.
The evil will be judged on the Day of Wrath.

"You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor”
(Ex 20:16). Is the 9th commandment.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue
is so set among our members that it defiles the whole
body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set
on fire by hell” (Jas 3:6).

Bless those who persecute you; bless
and do not curse” (Rom 12:14). Is God's Word.
Blessing strengthens, cursing destroys.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking
be put away from you, with all malice” (Eph 4:31).

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and
to destroy” (John 10:10).
Will you do Satan's bidding? Can he count on you?

Rather, Jesus Messiah-God says,
I have come that they may have life, and that they may
have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
"Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free
indeed” (John 8:36).

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you
in judgment you shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is from Me”  (Isa 54:17--
All scriptures are NKJV).

Power of the Spoken Word

Your Words have Power to Demolish Strongholds or to

Uphold the Kingdom of God.

The Accursed Fig Tree”

(Art by James Tissot, French, 1886-1994)

The spirit of prophecy is the very testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus (Rev 19:10). The Holy Spirit is continually instructing us. We live by his Words.

Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.

The lion has roared—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign LORD has spoken—
who can but prophesy?
(Amos 3:7-8 NIV).

God wants us to be sure of what

we know and of what we speak.

Jesus gives his Word to the body to remove doubt and double-mindedness. He energizes and propels the believers to move. He confirms our faith and knowledge of the kingdom on earth and how we are to advance that kingdom. Jesus warns us of the importance of every word.

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37 NIV).

The words we pray have divine power

to demolish or uphold.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Cor 10:3-5 NIV).

When the Bride of Christ understands the authority of the confirmed, spoken word of faith, she will advance the Kingdom of God mightily on the earth. Jesus modeled this authority that he knew we should move in.

One afternoon, Jesus cursed a fig tree because it bore no fruit. The next morning, Peter noticed the tree had withered and pointed this out to Jesus.

And Jesus said to them,

You must have faith in God.

23 Truly I say to you that whoever would say to this mountain, 'You must immediately be removed and you must immediately be cast into the sea,’ and would not doubt in his heart but would believe that what he is saying is happening, it shall be to him.

24 Because of this I say to you, you must continually pray for everything, then for whatever you are asking, believe that you have taken it, and it will be there for you” (Mark 11:22-24, The Power New Testament).

The Accursed Fig Tree” may confuse some. Jesus is showing us, You must have faith in God.” When we speak in faith or prayer, “Believe that you have taken it, and it will be there for you.” We are responsible to speak in faith. God is responsible for what happens. So, God just replaced my toe's cut joint, cut tendon, and skin over night! Yes, Bill.

Positive Words Heal Husband

Will God intervene to save a husband and wife in marriage?

"I presented her with one regal red rose." (PD)

In my prayer, Jesus stood to his feet and took me by his left hand. We walked from the darkened living room with the curtains drawn, through the hallway, and to each of the three bedrooms. Everywhere, we found piles of boxes waiting to be packed.

"Look at what Satan has done to your house!"

Jesus said in each room.

HE: Through the Holy Spirit, I understood what Jesus intended as he led me through the house. I am the husband and head of the family. He wanted me to stop the messy packing, to unpack the boxes, set up the household, and prepare for my family's return through a firm attitude of hope. He wanted me to take the exact opposite direction from that of defeat. By grace, I now understood that a woman wants to return to a place of strength, not weakness.

I knew it was now my task

to reclaim my household.

The next day I became very curious about my unusual experience with Jesus when he told me, "I am giving you a new heart. I am giving you My Heart." I wanted to see if this was supported in scripture. I was absolutely astonished at what I found in Ezekiel 11:19 and 36! I had never seen these verses before.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws” (Ezk 36:26-27, NIV).

My Pastor Phil had an idea. He made an appointment for me with two lovely young women of faith. I'll call them Marsha and Sandy. They were young wives whose husbands were sentenced to life in prison. For two hours, I sat with them on the living room carpet of their apartment and learned about faith and God's healing love.

They vowed a commitment to remain faithful to their husbands and to believe they would someday live free with them again. I remember the main point they taught me.

Words have power!

Never speak a negative word to your wife if you want to see her again. If she speaks 'divorce,' don't even speak that word back to her. You must remain absolutely positive in your faith and in your words if you want God to heal your marriage.”

This is a strong key for partners suffering a marriage crisis.

HE: I was a humbled but eager man when I met my wife returning through the airport gate with our children. As we walked from the plane, I presented her with one regal red rose.

Together my wife and I determined we shouldn't stay in the city. I agreed to give up the current graduate studies and to return home. We packed the house together and drove back East. Together, we participated in Christian counseling. God even opened an impossible financial blessing, and we purchased a country home.

SHE: “Any Christian couple in a Christian Church should have help in the pastor,” said my wife. “I know there can be different women in the church praying for me, even as I pray for them. I expect the Holy Spirit to use the normal channels of the Christian life in a healthy church to bring answers, so these kinds of crises will not happen.”

HE: The point is God loves his people so much that he intervenes in our lives and heals us for each other. We looked to his face and passed through the rocks together and came out on the other side. God is the necessary first partner to the couple in any marriage.

A threefold cord is not quickly broken”
(Eccl. 4:12, NKJ).
