Follow the Spirit

As Earth from the Sun draws Rays each dawn.

Cleansing the air we breathe.
Food nourishes creatures each day.
Oceans to streams quench thirst.
Passion is to Marriage and
Cries to Infants.
Children at play.
World at Work.
Kindness and Care for Mankind.
As Your Grace is Overpowering
to Us, O God.
Your Son, Our Savior.
Divine Love, Eternal without End.

God Defends.
(Isa 1:24) Therefore the Lord says, The LORD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, "Ah, I will rid Myself of My adversaries, And take vengeance on My enemies.”

(Deut 30:7) "Also the LORD your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.”

Special Day at Market. Before I even set up at 8:30 am, people arrived coming for ministry, healing, and witnessing. The Holy Spirit was on a roll. Usually, I'm off to a slow start, but Jesus was off to a jump start. I prayed for bandaged arms, wrists, feet, wheelchair persons, kidneys, disabled, aged, and young, some dozen people. God pointed them out. A few pastors came by and talked at length to get witness ideas. People came by and chatted intermittently. Different cultures appreciate when I show them interest. I'm mixed with God's heritage in family anyway, American Puritan, Indian, Black. I've elbowed with Orientals, Spanish, Scandinavians, Hebrews. Muslims have saved my life. I love foreign food. My Dad taught me all are my Brothers and Sisters in the Family of Man. I contacted “420” men, women, and childre, a few pregnant ladies. I don't know why others won't join me. It's so easy and rewarding to witness in the sweetness of the Holy Spirit.

Giving generously is the key to receiving abundantly in God's Love.
Modern people don't know how to love sacrificially.
But never ask man for your needs, ask God to provide.
Giving money to the poor, but not just money.
Bless the ones you meet with God's Love,
a wise word, a kind deed, a caring hug, a true kiss,
a heart gift. Living in God's Love, seeking always to give yourself,
you will receive his surprise supernatural Miracles and Blessings.
Prove it to yourself. We have found this is absolutely true.
(3 John 1:2) “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things
and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Seek to give your spouse Joy;
make a happy spouse,
and he/she will make a happy union.
Notice, I didn't say “give things.”
Give Joy.”
Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Practice the art of giving to
seek God's blessings.

Market, Saturday. Grateful for Earl, Tina, Cassidy, Pastor, John Paul, Linda helping. “400” contacts made, Men, Women, Children. God is sending more and more. Special Blessings, God who Loves them all. God answers every prayer and touches every contact, even a resistant reply can't get by. One Veteran nicely made me a special cross of nails for ministry, I'll wear around my neck.

Market, special witness in the Jesus Harvest. “344” contacts to our quiet shady new corner. Earl, Tina, and Cassidy came to help. The Holy Spirit nudged instantly. Some came quick, very supportive, and friendly. “I'm glad you're doing this.” Some came bashful, but seeking prayer or ministry. Some dared to approach curiously and cautiously, not wanting to be church-caught. But our aim is to share Jesus. Some reluctant believers wanted not to involve themselves publicly with Jesus at all, and said so. Some feared God, afraid to even pass us. But I call out, “God bless you.” I always want them to know. You see, the Holy Spirit backs me.

"If the new crime be, to believe in God, let us all be criminals," said Bishop Fulton J. Sheen.

Couples relate together in a successful marriage. They discuss, they talk, they share daily life together. True, they sometimes differ, they argue. But they respect each other. They differ about issues, but they do not generally attack each other cruelly with name calling. Further, they forgive fast. “Kiss slow, Forgive fast.” They come to agreement on family issues and they respect their children fairly. Discipline, money, problems, troubles, difficulties, are treated the same way. No one is perfect. Jesus is perfect. Issues are can be slow in resolution, but mutual agreement is a goal. Peace is the objective.

The main thing in a marriage is to live life together in Christ,” my wife of 47 years said.

Imperatively, this means to pray daily together, to read the Bible together, to worship in the same place or church together. “A family that prays together, stays together.” Also, we recommend holding family mini-worship or devotions at home. I remember my Dad always blessed us children each night on the way to bed. Something like, “May our Heavenly Father bless you in the wonder and power of his love, and give you a peaceful sleep in the Name of Jesus.” My wife and I now enjoy reading five psalms each morning or a scripture reading to start our prayers. As we grow older, it's our start time for the day with God.

Blessings to you,
Bill Hunt

Holy Spirit, move on our World.

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (NKJV Heb 12:14).

Mary Hunt practicing classical organ worship music.

I hear the Holy Spirit, as others also say, calling us to new and surprising things. Pray and Witness daily. He will use us in new places of ministry, spiritually and physically. Do not seek provision for these, he will so provide his way. Also, prayer is very powerful, as incense rising to his Throne. Believe by faith, know he hears and acts on every prayer divinely, whether you see or do not see visibly. Tend to scriptural teaching. Rid yourselves of things that block God. Dwell in his Divine Love. “Forgive fast! Love slowly!” as some say.

A Gift. Your salvation or religious faith does not depend on church, doctrine, works, good deeds, prayer, reading the Bible. These things will not save you. Only your relationship with his wonderful person will save you, Jesus Messiah, the Son of God. He gives this to you as a free gift, you can not earn it. Ask him. Repent of your sins, and believe wholly in him. Receive the gift of his loving relationship. Practice the daily Presence of God.

Consider, 150,000-180,000 people die worldwide everyday. How many actually expect death today? Have you ever helped anyone prepare for death? How many live for Jesus Messiah? How many actually enter Heaven? Most people, I've seen, die as they live, in love or hate. Why is there a Hell? Who goes there? Who goes to Heaven? What does God's Word say? And what is your destiny?

Why these severe winter storms? The Northeast is the most unchurched attending, non-Bible believing section of the USA. Even TV News surveys have reflected this. Does God care? Time to turn to Jesus Messiah and reflect on God. Job writes,

From the chamber of the South comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the North. By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen. Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth. He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy” (NKJV, Job 37:9-13).

Pornography is a great deception gripping the world, society, and the church. Pornography hinders a man's love relationship with God, as it hinders and hurts the love relationship with his wife. Likewise, this occurs with women as well as men. This tears children, marriages, and families. Pornography is the addiction link to world prostitution and trafficking. God warns,

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (NKJV Heb 12:14).

Witness Report. My brother's feet and my hands were very cold this morning as we two friends ministered and prayed for healing in the town market barn. Jesus was standing with us from our starting prayer. We talked with many people, a Jewish man, Philippine woman, couple of Spanish ladies, a seasoned Veteran crew chief from a C-130, teens, singles, the elderly, mothers, children, dads, many women and many men. “I also send the children,” Jesus whispered to me earlier. They too are important. Oh yes, four or five truckers came in separately at different times to ask for red witness stickers for their trucks. Go figure! We used Arthur Blessitt reds as well as Way of the Master witness dollars and pennies. Adults and children loved them. We gave out 117 reds even in the cold. How can you be so cold and have so much fun?

Must Christians pray for the World? I call it World Power Prayer!
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for All Men, for Kings and All who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires All Men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for All, to be testified in due time” (NKJV 1 Tim 2:1-6).

Must Christians actively witness, teach, and preach the Word?
I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.
Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (NKJV 1 Tim 4:1-4).

Too many Police Officers are attacked. Lord, divinely protect our just officers who serve our neighborhoods and our nation to uphold our laws. Remind them to pray. Bring them home safely to their families each day. God bless our nation.

God of Love, I pray for your Spirit to move on this Whole World.

God Provides for You

One of the weakest areas that comes across in Christians is not knowing God provides. Many Christians are, as such, beggars and not believers.

Asking Jesus

If Faith is the key to dealing with God, very few put the key in the lock and turn it. One of the great gifts we can give a person is not the substance he is begging for but the knowledge of where to find his Provider. That, he can use over and over again, and it will give power to his spiritual walk.

Heb 11:1 NKJV, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

And we are called to believe his provision and his intervention. Indeed, those who look to man instead of to God are showing disparaging faith indeed. Do not ask man at all, ask God.

Heb 11:6 NKJV, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

One key to faith is the use of giving. Give to receive. It defies all logic and proves the hand of God.

Lu 6:38 NKJV, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

In walking with God through spiritual things, always stop and consult the Holy Spirit, he may instruct you to do this and not that. God's ways are not the ways of man. Always consult and obey him explicitly to see the miracles of a gracious God.

Ac 5:32 NKJV, "And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

Chat with God

Why do we hear two different voices in our spirit?

Boys and Girls in the Sudan /tpsdave(www.Pixabay.com)

Are you having your morning chat with God or with the devil? How can you tell? The devil accuses you of your sin and paralyzes you with guilt. Jesus forgives your sin perfectly and forgets your sin perfectly, when you turn to Him.

Jesus molds you One with God and God One with you. He restores you to perfect innocence in perfect grace. God clothes you in his Son who bought, paid for, ransomed, and redeemed you. He sees you in the image of His own reflection.

Jesus the Messiah is the radiance of God's Glory and the exact representation of his Being. “Be Holy for I am Holy,” He says. In Him, there is nothing you are unable to do in carrying out His plan.

God's whole purpose is to be One with you, and you, One with Him.

The devil's purpose is to make you serve his evil deeds for eternity. He hates God and you so much he wants to destroy you as God's creature to suffer in hell for eternity. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. God wants you to live for eternity in Paradise.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life,” said Jesus. He is the Word, Jesus is the only Way to Heaven. “You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.” He is the Absolute Truth, the manifested Word of the Holy God made flesh. He is the Life, the Living Light and the Living Love of His Holy Spirit, the Presence of God.

In Him, we live and move and have our being. In Him is Light and there is no darkness at all. God invites us through Jesus to step into His Spirit forever to enjoy living in His Love and in His Light.

In Jesus,

NIGERIA: Nine Christians killed, Four Churches burned

Christmas Love? Pray for the 100 Million's Persecuted and Abused around the World. What if it were you?

Messiah Came! the Reason for the Season (by Bill Hunt)

Lagos, Nigeria, Dec. 4 (Open Doors News) — Nine Christians were killed and four Churches burned in two separate Dec. 1 attacks in northeast Nigeria by gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Islamist group.

The Christians and a Muslim were killed in Kwaple village, Chibok Local Government Area of Borno state when the Islamic group members went on rampage and burned 20 houses and a Church in the area, while three Churches were burned in Gamboru Ngala.

“I have just received a message from my people at Chibok and Gamboru Ngala that four of our Churches were attacked by the militants this morning and 10 people killed at Kwaple in Chibok LGA,”

--the Borno State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Titus Pona, said in a text message to the association’s president on Dec. 2.

Nuhu Clark, a former Chibok local government area council chairman, said the attackers entered the village at about 9 p.m. Saturday, then torched houses before using guns and machetes to kill their victims.

“Most of the victims were buried today,” Clark said on Sunday. “It is unfortunate that such could happen in such a peaceful village.”

According to Pona, the attackers burned The Church of the Brethren, Church of Christ in Nigeria, and Deeper Life Church Gamboru Ngala, and another Church of the Brethren in Chibok.

“It is clearly an attack on Christians by the Boko Haram members in a local government that that is predominantly Christian,” said a Christian leader in the region, who requested anonymity because churches had agreed that only the Christian Association of Nigeria chairman would speak to the press.

“The government is worried about the implication of this attack and is offering to support the rebuilding of the affected Churches.”

The State governor met Monday with state and local officials of the Christian association, the local government area council, and community leaders. They determined how to support the affected families.

“The affected families will be compensated, though life cannot be paid for,” said the anonymous Christian leader.

“The attack by members of the Islamic group, who are apparently not from the community, was unjustified and we have the assurance of the government that necessary measures will be taken to prevent a reoccurrence.”

Sunday Oibe, spokesman for the northern group of the Christian Association of Nigeria, decried the continued attacks on Christians, which he said were not getting enough attention from the government.

“What people get to hear is just a fraction of the attacks Christians are subjected to,” Oibe said. “It is unfortunate that when the (Christian Association of Nigeria) president comments on the issue, they accuse him of not being sensitive or raising false alarm. We cannot continue to keep quiet in the face of provocative attacks like last Saturday’s attack in Borno.”

Borno State is the headquarters of the Boko Haram group that has launched various terrorist attacks in the country, killing hundreds.

Can You Pray at a Distance?

Do you believe God is limited by time, space, or matter? Think of what that means.

Jesus Heeds the Woman
(Artist Unknown, ChristiansUnite.com)

People wonder how well prayer works at a distance. They want to pray by phone, on the Internet, or even around the World. Perhaps, they forget they are dealing with the God of the Universe who knows no limitations. Not time, not matter, not space.

I was delighted to find a woman across the country healed of two serious conditions recently, one short term and the other chronic, after prayer over the Internet. This, even by chat typing on Facebook.

Jesus shows us in scripture.

A Syro-Phoenician woman in the Region of Tyre and Sidon, not normally accepted by the Jews, begged Jesus to heal her possessed daughter who remained back at her own house.

But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs."
28 And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs."
29 Then He said to her, "For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter."
30 And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed (Mark 7:27-30 NKJV).

Jesus healed the paralyzed servant of a pagan Roman Centurion who would also not cause Jesus to return to his house.

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,
6 saying, "Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented."
7 And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
8 The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
9 "For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” (Matt 8:5-10 NKJV).

A nobleman came from Capernaum to Cana and begged Jesus to heal his son dying at home.

The nobleman said to Him, "Sir, come down before my child dies!"
50 Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, "Your son lives!"
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, and his whole household (John 4:49-53 NKJV).

Yes. You can pray at a distance, by phone, by radio, by mail, by computer, by Internet, or indeed, spiritually, across your neighborhood, across the country, or even around the World. Do you have Faith? God knows no limitations, other than your heart before him.

The World needs your prayer.

Power of the Spoken Word

Your Words have Power to Demolish Strongholds or to

Uphold the Kingdom of God.

The Accursed Fig Tree”

(Art by James Tissot, French, 1886-1994)

The spirit of prophecy is the very testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus (Rev 19:10). The Holy Spirit is continually instructing us. We live by his Words.

Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.

The lion has roared—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign LORD has spoken—
who can but prophesy?
(Amos 3:7-8 NIV).

God wants us to be sure of what

we know and of what we speak.

Jesus gives his Word to the body to remove doubt and double-mindedness. He energizes and propels the believers to move. He confirms our faith and knowledge of the kingdom on earth and how we are to advance that kingdom. Jesus warns us of the importance of every word.

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37 NIV).

The words we pray have divine power

to demolish or uphold.

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ” (2 Cor 10:3-5 NIV).

When the Bride of Christ understands the authority of the confirmed, spoken word of faith, she will advance the Kingdom of God mightily on the earth. Jesus modeled this authority that he knew we should move in.

One afternoon, Jesus cursed a fig tree because it bore no fruit. The next morning, Peter noticed the tree had withered and pointed this out to Jesus.

And Jesus said to them,

You must have faith in God.

23 Truly I say to you that whoever would say to this mountain, 'You must immediately be removed and you must immediately be cast into the sea,’ and would not doubt in his heart but would believe that what he is saying is happening, it shall be to him.

24 Because of this I say to you, you must continually pray for everything, then for whatever you are asking, believe that you have taken it, and it will be there for you” (Mark 11:22-24, The Power New Testament).

The Accursed Fig Tree” may confuse some. Jesus is showing us, You must have faith in God.” When we speak in faith or prayer, “Believe that you have taken it, and it will be there for you.” We are responsible to speak in faith. God is responsible for what happens. So, God just replaced my toe's cut joint, cut tendon, and skin over night! Yes, Bill.

Praying Single-Minded

God is One, and we must be Single-Minded with Him

in Prayer.

He wakens me morning by morning...."
(Photo, Mary Hunt c. 2012).

Dear Father in the Highest Heavens, You waken us early in the morning to hear your voice and to understand what you are saying. So, I thank you that you wake me, and I can hear you speaking instruction to me. Oh, I’m hearing the Lord talk to me! Listen....

The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught” (Isaiah 50:4 NIV).

You say, you want us to get rid of all uncertainty and double-mindedness. Double-mindedness limits faith and productivity, the works that come from prayer. Double-mindedness steals our firm stand upon the spoken and written word of God. It immediately puts dark spirits on notice that there is an open door for temptation. We open ourselves to be led astray or to be lied to. When God instructs us, we must come into such sure agreement with God that we can act upon that word.

We obey. We say and declare what we hear from God, and we make the word our own. We become one with it. It builds our knowledge and faith in God, increased by God himself. Romans 10:17 instructs us that faith comes from hearing the word or the message. And hearing the word of God, we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth, the word of truth is revealed to us.

The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, that is the word of faith we are proclaiming”(Rom 10:8 NIV). Paul referred to Psalm 116 when he said, “I believed; therefore I have spoken” (2 Corinthians 4:13 NIV).

The word comes, we receive it. But it works its effectiveness in us when we speak it and declare it back to God, and to others. It grows in us by reason of use. We must take it up, the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, both logos and rhema. The rhema word, spoken in faith, quickened, enlivened by the “electricity” of the Holy Spirit, truly generates faith and removes doubt.

In the hearing of that spoken, prophesied word, faith empowers. We know we are hearing the very word of the Lord. Our spirit witnesses to the Holy Spirit. That’s how we as the Body of Christ are able to judge any word spoken in the assembly. Does it generate faith? Does it confirm and unify? Does it unsettle and divide?

The confirming, prophesied word of the Lord produces electric faith and rejoicing that God, our Wonderful Father, has spoken personally and specifically to us. We never forget it, for we are changed by it.

How did Mary Pray?

In the Christmas Story, Mary shows us how to respond to God.

Annunciation by Carl Heinrich Block

Mary presented herself as a well liked young woman in her village, attractive, smart, wise. She has a great devotion to God. She's a tremendous caregiver and servant. She's gentle and appreciates gentleness in return. She's engaged to a worthy young carpenter.
Then her life changed. The Angel Gabriel came unexpectedly to speak with her.
v28 “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”
Mary was troubled, the Angel reassured her.
v30 “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”
Being a virgin, she was most concerned by his words.

v34 “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

Gabriel gently explained.
v35 “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. The Angel presented her with evidence of this Truth.
v36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.”
Mary humbled herself before God and consented.

v38 “Behold the maidservant of the Lord!
Let it be to me according to your word.”

And the angel departed from her.
Mary traveled to visit her favored cousin Elizabeth who experienced a miraculous intervention and spoke through the gift of knowledge.
v41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said,

Blessed are you among women, and
blessed is the fruit of your womb!

v43 But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
Mary responded with her own great prophetic word, first humbling herself before God.

My soul magnifies the Lord,

v47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name.
With supernatural perception, seeing the significance of God's works for her nation, she glorified Him.
v50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly.
She could see that God in bringing the Messiah exalted the common man, the poor of Israel.
v53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, 55 As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever” (Luke 1:28-55 NKJV).
Mary spoke with unabashed sincerity, humbling herself and yielding to God. She believed and manifested her faith with obedience. She perceived the significance of this message of the Messiah to her nation, and she spoke wisdom through her heartfelt perception, glorifying God. Should we not follow her example in prayer?

Christmas Blessings to You!

A Second to Pray--All Through the Day

Prayer is the most powerful force on earth.

It Only Takes a Second to Pray Anytime of Day!
(Photo by Bill Hunt, c. 2011.)

How long does it take to pray? In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked the apostles, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?” (Matt 26:40 NKJV). Is not prayer the lifting of the mind and heart to God? And that act takes only a second!

Brother Lawrence in 17th century Paris exemplified practicing the daily presence of God. Indeed, to talk with God through the day, you need to master the art of the one-second prayer. Think of it! In one second, at any time of day, you can be a world intercessor! You can converse with God.

Do you have the time?

You can pray for the World. This is the one-second list.
Sunday – For Russia and Central Asia.
Monday – For China and the Orient.
Tuesday – For Australia and all the islands of the sea.
Wednesday – For the United States and the Americas.
Thursday – For Africa.
Friday – For Europe and Eastern Europe.
Saturday – For Israel and the East.

Of course, you could pray a little longer!
You could.

Pray for the Holy Spirit in the World and for world missionaries.
Pray for statesmen and for government leaders.
Pray for the flowing of the Holy Spirit in the whole church.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Pray for the sick and the suffering, the forgotten, the lonely, the poor.
Pray for your family members, relatives, and friends.
Pray for your local church body, place of work, community, state and nation.
Pray for the events occurring in the daily news!

Pray for the children, the women, the men,

who are enslaved, beaten, and tortured.
"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom"
(2 Cor 3:17 NIV).

The Lion of Judah will arise and devour
all who devour others.
They will be cast into the lake of fire
where the worm does not die and
the flames are not quenched.

So I pray for a hundred million miracles for
the suffering and persecuted. Set them free
miraculously.

I pray for a hundred million miraculous conversions
over the Earth. Show them your face that they may
see you are the Messiah, the King of Kings and
Lord of Lords, the Son of God Most High.

When you pray, GOD has blessings and
miracles waiting for you.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV).

Here’s my personally modified prayer of Jabez (I Chronicles 4:10).

O Lord, bless me indeed this day and enlarge my territory. Hold me in the palm of your hand, so I can have fellowship with you all day long. Keep me from all harm, sin, and evil, that I might not cause you pain. O God! I thank you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. That I am bought, paid for, ransomed, and redeemed by the Blood of Jesus.

God Warns a Nation!

When some deny God, it is time for men and women to stand, speak out, and pray.

Benjamin Franklin leads prayer at Constitution Convention, 1787.
Our nation is suffering disasters: devastating tornadoes, rampant forest fires, powerful hurricanes, earthquakes, immense flooding, not to mention murderous crimes, military deaths, and such. More than once I've heard a person ask, “Is this an Act of God? Does he cause it?”

There are many who mirthfully laugh at such a suggestion, considering all Acts of God as accidental consequences. But walking closer with God, others recognize the truth as in Ben Franklin's statement to his compatriots during the stalled progress of the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

And have we now forgotten
that powerful friend?

Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men.

No, God himself is not the author of evil! The God of perfect goodness and perfect justice is compelled to withdraw his hand of mighty Blessing and protection in the face of man's horrible wickedness and sin. It is the prince of evil who comes “to steal, kill, and destroy.”

For instance, how dare Mayor Michael Bloomberg block God from the 9-11 NYC Memorial Service in violation of our heritage and our national motto, “In God We Trust?” We grieve for our nation so consecrated to God by our colonial forefathers.

Blessed is the nation whose
God is the Lord” (Ps 33:12).

When our president denies our national godly heritage and political leaders work to establish laws against the moral commands of God and to destroy the elements of our founding Constitution, they trespass. The denial of God blocks the blessings to our nation in health, prosperity, and victory. We grieve for our nation.

No king is saved by the size of his army” (Ps 33:16).

Nahum warned Nineveh again, a hundred years after Jonah, of God's wrath against the guilty in the power of whirlwind, storm, drought, earthquake, fire, and overwhelming flooding (Nahum 1:2-8). This time Nineveh did not listen and destruction came about 663 BC.

Ben Franklin further warned.

I also believe that without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in the political building no better than the builders of Babel; we shall be divided by our little, partial local interests; our projects will be confounded; and we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to future ages.

And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing government by human wisdom and leave it to chance, war, or conquest.

What is happening? If we wish to heed the warning, we must acknowledge the God in whom we trust.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron 7:14 NKJV).

When some deny God, it is time for men and women to stand, speak out, and pray.

He cares for those who trust in him” (Nahum 1:7 NKJV).

Meeting the Real Jesus!

Have You met the Real Jesus face to face?

"Walking with Jesus on the Road to Emmaus."
  (Unknown Artist, ChristiansUnite.com)

A personal encounter with the real Jesus is something special, something wondrous, something a person can never forget! Think of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus that first Resurrection Day. An unknown traveler joined them. He explained the scriptural significance of the Messiah's suffering, death, and burial over the last few days. The disciples, so intrigued, asked their guest to stay and spend the evening with them. They even offered to pay his motel bill.

When he was at table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:30-32 NIV).

The apostle Nathanael did not accept Philip’s words about Jesus at first meeting. “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?”

Come and see,” said Philip.

But Jesus saw him coming and honored him, “Here is a true Israelite in whom there is nothing false.”

How do you know me? Nathanael asked.”

Jesus answered, I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

Rabbi,” Nathanael answered overwhelmed, “you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel” (John 1:44-49 NIV).

Hearts burn when Jesus is present. When some of John’s disciples first saw Jesus coming toward them, John pointed the Messiah out to them.

Look, the lamb of God,

"...who takes away the sins of the world. This is the one I meant when I said, A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me. I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel” (John 1:29-31 NIV).

As a nine year old boy, a Shriners Hospital surgically straightened my clubfoot. I saw a dark vision during the operation of a whirling black hole in the universe. As people came near it, they were caught by the force and sucked downward into the abyss screaming. Frightened, I felt its pull grab me. I asked,

“Do I have to go down there, too?”

No, you’re not going down there! I have use for you,” said the great, gentle voice of the Master ringing through the cosmos. I could see only his sandals and the garment to his knees.

About eight weeks later, orderlies cut the cast off my leg. I was under no medication. The whirring electric saw felt like it was cutting through my very sensitive leg. During my years of childhood medical care and pain, my Air Force officer father always taught me to grit my teeth and offer the pain to Jesus. So I did it once again. I uttered not a sound as tears of pain rolled down my cheeks.

I saw the crucified Jesus before me in living color. All his head swollen, wrapped in thorns, blood running down from his wrists along his arms, his face tilted to his right shoulder in unbearable agony.

As a small boy I was greatly horrified by the site of our suffering Lord in bloody agony. From out of that agony, he slowly turned his face toward me, and smiled!

I told what I had just seen to the two hospital orderlies sawing off my cast. One did not believe me, the other did. The one who believed took the electric saw from the other and more carefully finished cutting the cast from my leg with a non-powered hand saw.

Believing in Jesus is a matter of experience for me. I saw him. I’ll never forget his suffering smile.
