Jesus Ministers Under Attack

Are you surprised when Persecution attacks your Christianity?

Jesus Heals the Sick
by Jean-Baptiste Jouvenet, 1756-59
The Pharisees, as self-styled “religious” men are want to do, looked down their noses at Jesus even in his early ministry. As an observing disciple, I felt angry at them.

Why are you and your men not fasting as we are?”

No one pours new wine into old wineskins or it will tear,” said Jesus. “No, he pours new wine into new wineskins,” speaking of training his disciples.

Why are you doing what is unlawful?”

Jesus and his disciples picked the heads of the wheat on the Sabbath. The Pharisees stuck their noses out again, always trying to accuse Jesus.

Don't you remember David gave his men the consecrated bread when they were hungry?” said Jesus. “The Sabbath is made for man and not man for the Sabbath.” Now that's a point people forget.

Watch him and see if he works and violates the Sabbath.”

When Jesus peached in the synagogue, a man with a shriveled hand came to him. The religious Pharisees had already decided that Jesus healing on the Sabbath was forbidden labor. They were ready to pounce.

Is it lawful to do good or evil on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill it?” No one answered him. I felt I was ready to fight if anyone stepped forward to stop the Master.

Stretch out your hand,” he said. He looked around with distress at the faces of his religious accusers. The man's hand completely healed without Jesus even touching him. How could the Pharisees call that labor?

They even talked with the Herodian-Sadducee priestly class about how they might kill Jesus.

Jesus was mobbed again by crowds in the days ahead. People came from towns to the west and the north and even from the east across the Jordan. He healed diseases everywhere. He healed the lame; he cast out screaming demons, and the people kept coming. Finally, because of the crowds at the Sea of Galilee, he preached from a boat off shore. Smart, I thought.

He spent the night in prayer on a mountain. He selected twelve men to be apostles. He gave them authority to preach and to drive out demons. There were so many demons in the crowds; it's no wonder. Even the crowds squeezed around one house when Jesus was invited for supper. He could not eat, but continued casting out demons.

He, too, is possessed with Beelzebub,” said the watching Pharisees.

Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit has committed an eternal sin that will never be forgiven,” said Jesus. He said this because the Pharisees and Sadducees were attacking the works of God.

Jesus' family heard about his work with the overwhelming crowds and his trouble with the authoritarian Pharisees. Out of family love, they came to rescue him.

Who are my mother, and brothers, and sisters,” said Jesus. “Anyone who does my Father's Will; they are my mother and brothers and sisters.” And his family left him in peace. (Adapted from Mark 2 & 3.)

Starving North Korea

Whether it be easy or hard, Jesus sends each Christian into the World.”

North Korea, South Pyongan Province

The Apostle from the dark side of North Korea said he walks daily with a Holy and Righteous God looking to Heavenly things. The elderly man spoke a scripture.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Heb 4:12-13 NKJV).

The Apostle explained, since the 1980's, some million people die of hunger each year and the population is starving. But the government does not care. It is dedicated to maintaining a military state with a million man army. The tyrannical leader told his people, he said, that even if the civilian population of 24,000,000 dies down to 30,000, he would still have a country to rule.

Starving people turn to cannibalism. A mother eats her baby, he said. A farmer raises a herd of goats or cows, only to find military trucks pull up to his farm in the night and take his herd. He is forced to hide a few animals in the mountains so he can start a new herd.

The regime maintains its stronghold using the military. Young men conscripted into the army are sent to terrorist training camps. The people believe with fear each soldier is so trained in martial arts that one warrior can rapidly kill a hundred men.

More than 200,000 civilians are imprisoned in secret gulag-style concentration camps where they undergo severe torture and forced, accelerated starvation. When one offends, political prisoners, religious prisoners, any so called enemies of the state are arrested along with three to four generations of their families, men, women, and children, the old and the young. All are imprisoned behind electric fences for life and never seen again.

North Korean citizens attempt to escape to Red China where they find little comfort. Unauthorized, they are hunted down by both Chinese and North Korean security. Tens of thousands of refugee women are placed in cruel brothels, abused, beaten, and forced to prostitution. Men are forced to work on Chinese collective farms with no pay. Both are in constant fear of capture, starvation, and disease, They are forced to hide and to hunt for food. If they are taken back to North Korea, they face execution or imprisonment in the camps.

By these severe hardships, the Apostle explained, the emotions of the North Korean citizens are dried and hardened. They go through life trusting no one, starving, enslaved by fear, and unable to express but little feeling. Only the gospel of Jesus with the Spirit and Truth revives the dead soul as these victims read or hear the Bible and are set free. Joy returns to their faces, he said.

The Apostle, himself, has suffered severe persecution, torture, and time in prisons. He has seen men and women come to Christ, and several martyred. It is treason subject to death in North Korea to possess or read a Bible. The tyrannical leaders claim divine aura for themselves and want no challenge from any other gods. The purpose of the military is to maintain the suppression of the population.

But God is working in North Korea. Not only are disciples giving their lives, Jesus the Son of God is seen ministering in visions and miracles. With no access to hospitals or medical care, disciples perform divine healings and miracles. One vision to pray for, showed Jesus the King of Kings ministering to the Korean War Lords one by one.

Whether it be easy or hard, Jesus sends each Christian into the world,” the Apostle advised.

God calls us,” he said. “Go, bring the dead people back to me.”

Will you earnestly pray for the North Korean people?

Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him (Psalm 2: 10-12 NKJV).

Armageddon Antichrist, End Times Battle

The coming Armies of Armageddon end in total annihilation by the hand of the Messiah.

Zin River Valley in Israel

What will be the outcome of the End Times Battle? In the book “God's War on Terror,” Walid Shoebat indicates the scriptures. The Armies of the Antichrist are destroyed by sword, fire, great hailstones, a great earthquake, and disease (Ezk 38:22).

And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great (Rev 16:16-21).

Further scriptures support destruction of this tremendous army (Rev 19:15; Is 34: 5-6).

"I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains," says the Lord GOD. "Every man's sword will be against his brother. "And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone” (Ezk 38:21-22).

The massive weapons of war are ultimately burned from the battlefield.

"Surely it is coming, and it shall be done," says the Lord GOD. "This is the day of which I have spoken. "Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years” (Ezk 39:8-9).

The dead of the defeated armies are eaten by the wildlife of the earth (Rev 19:17).

And as for you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD, “Speak to every sort of bird and to every beast of the field: Assemble yourselves and come; Gather together from all sides to My sacrificial meal Which I am sacrificing for you, A great sacrificial meal on the mountains of Israel, That you may eat flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty, Drink the blood of the princes of the earth, Of rams and lambs, Of goats and bulls, All of them fatlings of Bashan.
You shall eat fat till you are full, And drink blood till you are drunk, At My sacrificial meal Which I am sacrificing for you. You shall be filled at My table With horses and riders, With mighty men And with all the men of war," says the Lord GOD (Ezk 39:17-20).

The Messiah will rule the resulting Millennium and the World will remain at Peace.

Many nations shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He shall judge between many peoples, And rebuke strong nations afar off; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war any more (Micah 4:2-3. All scriptures NKJV).

Messiah Victory End Times Battle

And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east.

Looking east over Jerusalem at dawn.

Jesus the Messiah King is present in the great End Times Battle in the Valley of Armageddon against the Antichrist, termed as Gog of the Land of Magog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Walid Shoebat explains in his 500 page extensive research in the book, “God's War on Terror” (Ezk 38:20).

"So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel” (Ezk 39:7). (All scriptures NKJV.)

"And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel," says the Lord GOD, "that My fury will show in My face” (Ezk 38:18).

(2) The enemy armies come from the direct north, never the European west.

"But I will remove far from you the northern army, And will drive him away into a barren and desolate land, With his face toward the eastern sea And his back toward the western sea; His stench will come up, And his foul odor will rise, Because he has done monstrous things." (Joel 2:20).

14 Then the LORD will be seen over them, And His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, And go with whirlwinds from the south.
15 The LORD of hosts will defend them; They shall devour and subdue with sling stones. They shall drink and roar as if with wine; They shall be filled with blood like basins, Like the corners of the altar.
16 The LORD their God will save them in that day, As the flock of His people. For they shall be like the jewels of a crown, Lifted like a banner over His land... (Zech 9:14-16).

(3) The return of the Messiah King for the battle is well defined.

"Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations” (Joel 3:12).

The LORD also will roar from Zion, And utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, And the strength of the children of Israel (Joel 3:16).

(4) The destruction of the Antichrist is marked by the greatest world earthquake as the armies are posed against Israel (Ezk 38:19-20).

18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.
19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found (Rev 16:18-20).

(5) The mountains are thrown down, only one kingdom remains.

1 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle.
4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. (Zech 14:1-4).

(6) Ezekiel says all the prophets speak of this battle with Gog, the Antichrist.

'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them”?' (Ezk 38:17 All scriptures NKJV).

Pray for Israel More Than Ever

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you.”

Tower of David, Jerusalem

Even now, more than ever, pray for Israel in conflict. You see the urgency for this in the daily news reports. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you” (Ps 122:6 NKJV).

We acknowledge that Arabs and Israelis are sons of Abraham. The strife seems to have started between Sarah and Hagar and is unending through history. Even then, Isaiah prophesies that someday in the end times, there will be peace.

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria (Empire once included Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran to Egypt), and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria-a blessing in the midst of the land,
25 whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance” (Isa 19:23-25 NKJV).

Meanwhile, scripture upholds many times the Messiah will lead Israel to victory over her enemies.

"In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the LORD before them.
9 "It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn” (Zech 12: 8-10 NKJV).

Psalm 83 in your Bible is an effective prayer for Israel against her enemies.

Psalm 83
(A Song. A Psalm of Asaph.)

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!
2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
4 They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more...."

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you” (Ps 122:6 NKJV).

Glorious Blessings,
Bill Hunt
