Your
Words have Power to Demolish Strongholds or to
Uphold the Kingdom of
God.
“The Accursed Fig Tree” |
(Art
by James Tissot, French, 1886-1994)
The
spirit of prophecy is the very testimony of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus (Rev 19:10). The Holy Spirit is continually instructing us. We
live by his Words.
Surely
the Sovereign LORD does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
The
lion has roared—
who will not fear?
The Sovereign LORD has spoken—
who can but prophesy?
(Amos
3:7-8 NIV).who will not fear?
The Sovereign LORD has spoken—
who can but prophesy?
God
wants us to be sure of what
we know and of what we speak.
Jesus
gives his Word to the body to remove doubt and double-mindedness. He
energizes and propels the believers to move. He confirms our faith
and knowledge of the kingdom on earth and how we are to advance that
kingdom. Jesus warns us of the importance of every word.
“But
I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of
judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you
will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned”
(Matthew 12:36-37 NIV).
The
words we pray have divine power
to demolish or uphold.
“For
though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the
contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We
demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against
the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it
obedient to Christ” (2 Cor 10:3-5 NIV).
When
the Bride of Christ understands the authority of the confirmed,
spoken word of faith, she will advance the Kingdom of God mightily on
the earth. Jesus modeled this authority that he knew we should move
in.
One
afternoon, Jesus cursed a fig tree because it bore no fruit. The next
morning, Peter noticed the tree had withered and pointed this out to
Jesus.
“You
must have
faith in God.
23
Truly
I say to
you that
whoever would
say to this mountain, 'You
must immediately be removed
and you
must immediately be cast
into the sea,’ and would
not doubt in his
heart but would
believe that what he
is
saying
is
happening,
it shall
be to
him.
24
Because
of this I say to you, you must continually pray for everything, then
for whatever you are asking, believe that you have taken it, and it
will be there for you”
(Mark
11:22-24,
The
Power New Testament).

“The
Accursed Fig Tree” may confuse some. Jesus is showing us, “You
must have faith in God.” When
we speak in faith or prayer, “Believe
that you have taken it, and it will be there for you.” We are
responsible to speak in faith. God is responsible for what happens.
So, God just replaced

joint, cut
tendon, and skin
over night! Yes,
Bill.
